Add or remove people from a Google Meet video call

Add people during a video meeting

Remove people during a video coming together

Of import: Y'all demand to be in the same Google Workspace organization as the meeting organizer to remove someone from a telephone call. For calls organized through your personal Google account, just the coming together organizer can remove participants during a video call.

Once in a video call:

  1. On the top left, tap the coming together name.
  2. On the "People" tab, next to a participant, tap Bill of fareCustomize and control Google Chrome and then Remove.

Tip: To remove a user who called from their phone, adjacent to the number, tap Remove.

Google Workspace for Instruction users: Participants (both in-domain and out of domain) removed from the coming together tin't request admission to bring together the meeting once again. If a participant's requests to join a meeting are denied twice, they won't be able to request to bring together the meeting once more. In these cases, the meeting organizer can manually invite them dorsum into the meeting.

Control access to a video meeting with Quick access

Important:

  • Quick access is available with the following Google Workspace editions: Thou Suite Basic, G Suite Business, Essentials, Business organisation Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Frontline, and all Workspace for Pedagogy editions.
  • Host Management must be turned on to use Quick access.

As the meeting organizer, use Quick admission to decide who needs to inquire to join the video meeting.

When Quick access is on:

When Quick access is off:

  • Participants from your domain can automatically join the meeting using their computer or mobile device.
  • Participants who dial into the meeting using their telephone can automatically join.
  • Whatever participant can dial out of the meeting.
  • Coming together host must join the meeting before anyone else can bring together.
  • Only participants invited past the host can bring together the meeting without asking/"knocking".
  • Participants from your organization who aren't invited must ask to bring together the meeting. This includes people who want to dial into the meeting by phone.
  • People who are invited during the meeting by someone other than y'all must ask to join.
  • Only coming together hosts can punch out of the meeting.

Quick access is turned on past default for all meetings where host management is turned on. Workspace Admins tin can gear up the default to on or off.  After you start a video coming together, you can modify the Quick admission setting equally often as you demand.

Tips:

  • If you turn Quick access on or off in recurring meetings or meetings that re-use the same meeting code, the setting will be saved for time to come meetings. If you turn Quick access on or off in a ane-fourth dimension, nicknamed, or instant coming together, the setting volition return to on after the meeting ends.
  • For meetings created from Google Calendar, invited participants tin join someday betwixt 15 minutes before the scheduled time and the finish of the coming together. Otherwise, participants will need to knock to join the meeting.
